Zur Schaffung einer theoretischen foundation wurde der aktuelle Forschungsstand des internationalen Personalmanagements zusammengefasst. Dabei wurde besonders auf Veränderungen durch die Wirtschaftsreform und den Einfluss von chinesischen Managementpraktiken (in Staatsbetrieben) auf das administration in Joint Ventures eingegangen.

Um die Besonderheiten der Personalbeschaffung, die sich aus den chinesischen Umweltfaktoren ergeben, herauszuarbeiten, wurde das chinesische Umfeld ausführlich beschrieben.

Die Einflüsse der chinesischen Umweltfaktoren auf Qualifikationsanforderung, Rekrutierungsquelle, Rekrutierungswege und Personalauswahl werden mit Hilfe der Experteninterviews ausführlich analysiert.

Das Ergebnis der Experteninterviews hat gezeigt, dass obwohl die Instrumente der Personalrekrutierung in FIEs langfristig gesehen durch vermehrte ausländische Investitionen, steigende Konkurrenz der chinesischen Unternehmungen und professionelles Bewerbungstraining allmählich standardisiert werden, spielen insbesondere bei der Erstellung von Anforderungsprofilen und bei der Beurteilung der Eignung von Kandidaten chinesische Umweltfaktoren weiterhin eine große Rolle.
