17 Nov Chad’s Blog: Home For the Holidays
There’s always something special about being home for the holidays, but what is it like when you live here in Florida? Well, we don’t get to bundle up in our warm, cozy parkas or sled down steep hills covered in white, fluffy snow. But, the weather outside is far from frightful this time of year and…well, I’ve never had to experience shoveling snow, which I hear is grueling.
That doesn’t mean we Floridians can’t enjoy everything this wonderful time of year has to offer. The great thing about living in Florida is that you’re never too far to drive to the coast and visit places along the beach that have a real sense of “small town” holiday spirit.
One of our favorite places to visit is The Canal Street Historic District in New Smyrna Beach. This area really lights up this time of year and is a great place to walk outdoors and find local mom-and-pop shops for unique gifts. The restaurants are also pretty awesome.
So, get out, Florida, and get your fill of holiday cheer — even if it’s in your flip flops!
