29 Jun Chad’s Blog: Summer is Here
I don’t know about you, but summertime is in full swing and I am so excited! Ah, vacations, BBQs, and long, sunny days. Sure, it can get pretty doggone hot in Florida this time of year, but there are still plenty of things to Do and still keep cool.
Visit one of the many Florida Springs throughout Florida near you! One of my favorites is Wekiwa Springs, just north of Orlando where the water temps are 72 degrees all year around! Make sure to arrive super early because the park fills to capacity quickly.
There’s nothing like the wind in your face as you speed along lakes and rivers in search of gators and other wildlife. Best time to see wildlife is early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Black Hammock Adventures & Airboat Rides runs along the largest alligator population in Florida in Lake Jesup.
Visit the Zoo
Zoos nowadays offer a lot more than just viewing exotic animals from a distance. The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens offers unique opportunities to feed giraffes and rhino encounters. Plus, there are plenty of shady areas, ziplines, fun splash grounds, and sunset happy hours for those 21+.
Get Some Ice Cream
Whether it’s soft serve, gelato, slushies, or banana splits, there is nothing more refreshing than a cold dessert on a hot summer day.
Go Rock Climbing
Ok, Florida many not be synonymous with climbing rocks, but at least there’s the opportunity to Do it in air conditioned comfort or during an afternoon thunderstorm.
Take a Swing at Miniature Golf
Golfing at night can be so much fun! Many places open until 11pm nightly.
Enjoy the Nightlife Outdoors
Plenty of restaurants and bars have outdoor areas to hang out, enjoy the sunset, and watch the stars.
So, stay hydrated, drink plenty of liquids, and get out and Do florida!
